The LXQ laser series is an infrared pulsed fiber laser emitting at 1064 nm. It is the ideal laser for marking aluminum, anodized aluminum, steel, stainless steel and othe metals. With a tolerance range of 6 mm, it is perfect to mark flat surfaces either moving or immobile.
In this video, an LXQ laser system is used to brand an anuodised aluminum sample. The marking comprises a company logo and a codebar. The marking technique employed is laser ablation, the intensity of the laser is strictly controled so that it is powerful enough to remove the aluminum oxide without impacting the metal underneath. It differs widely from other laser marking technique that vaporises metal or changes the surface to modify the behaviour of the light it reflects.
