Steel Annealing

The LXQ laser series is an infrared pulsed fiber laser emitting at 1064 nm. It is the ideal laser for marking aluminum, steel, stainless steel and other metals. With a tolerance range of 6 mm, it is perfect to mark flat surfaces either moving or immobile.

In this video, an LXQ laser system is used to brand a steel sample. The marking comprises a company logo in two tones of grey. The marking technique employed is laser annealing, by heating the surface for long period of time the metals changes color. It differs widely from other laser marking technique that vaporises metal or profoundly change the surface to create black and grey patterns.

The video is shown at actual speed.
