Recently, the Laserax team was active meeting with industry leaders in the United States. Between September 12-17, they participated in two important tradeshows in the primary metals and automotive industries: Aluminum USA in Nashville, Tennessee, and the American Automotive Summit in Detroit, Michigan.

Here’s why their presence at these events is leading to some great opportunities for Laserax.

Aluminum USA - Leading Marking Solutions

Laserax was present at Aluminum USA from September 12 to 13. Being there was a given, as Laserax provides marking solutions for some of the largest aluminum producers in the world, including Rio Tinto, Hydro, RUSAL and SAPA. There's a good reason for it too: Laserax led the way for marking technologies, offering a complete traceability solution for the harshest production environments.

Eric Bourbeau (Director of Sales, Products and Partners) and Jerome Landry (Sales and Application Engineer) had the opportunity to meet people from the entire aluminum value chain, including the mining, smelting, casting, rolling, extrusion, finishing and fabrication sectors.

Eric says that the people he met already knew the advantages of laser marking, as it’s long been used in the industry. They rather had questions about the integration of our solutions, including our machines and partners.

American Automotive Summit - Traceability and Quality Challenges

Harry Scholtens, Sales Manager at Laserax, recently attended the American Automotive Summit, an important event for the automotive industry in the United States. On September 16 and 17, he met global quality and engineering managers from some of the world’s largest automotive-part manufacturers.

According to Harry, trending subjects at the event were traceability, quality, lightweighting, electrification and autonomous automobiles. He thus spent lots of time talking about traceability and quality, two important challenges addressed by our laser marking solutions.

Harry also had the chance to discuss how properly done laser marking is imperative for today’s traceability and tomorrow’s digital factories.

His conclusion? “Lots of need for Laserax’s technology in most auto parts suppliers. Especially in difficult high-speed applications, and where the mark needs to survive shotblasting, shot peening or coating.”
